I’m a commercial HVAC guy . I once fixed a friends older Chevy that had zero pressure left . I used nitrogen to pressure it and it held pressure , I evacuated it and the vacuum was good and it held . I charged it up and once it started and the rubber to metal hose connection on the suction line got cold it started to leak like crazy . The soap I had used earlier and remained intact started to make huge bubbles ....... what a waste of time

Scotty the first thing I check is the battery on most issues on a car that is more than 4 years old. Surprisingly many issues are solved from bad gas mileage, engine stutter, transmission shifting AC or whatever. If it has a computer control CHECK THAT BATTERY. And don't start tearing stuff apart until you have correct and constant signal/base voltage. May start and run ok but a battery that is going bad will drive you nuts.

How did car companies get away with the compressor letting out Freon over time?? Wouldn’t the EPA have something to say about that!? I always thought if there was a leak it’s a real leak not on purpose. So it’s suppose to leak to lubricate the shaft o ring? I guess it doesn’t work like window units or central home ac. Nothing but money money money to maintain these cars. Watching your videos exhausts me. I can’t do these maintenance procedures myself nor spend the thousands to maintain it with a mechanic. I’m just gonna ride the bus and spend my money on something else I enjoy. Are electric cars this expensive and worrisome to maintain?

Great video Scotty, but most people do not have an expensive scan tool or AC gauges to check pressure. If it's a hot day and you want more AC an "easy" way to make it colder is to switch off "outside" air on the climate control and switch to "recirc" (if system is equipped) This way the AC is not cooling the hot outside air all the time. Of course this is only if the system is working properly and correctly charged. (don't forget to check or replace the cabin filter) (retired ASE Master Tech)

There may be a couple reasons of course but most common I've seen is refrigerant levels. If you've taken or had an AC service done the sticker under the hood commonly has the specs for a non rear ac system vehicle. So it may just be out of spec. If your ac gets cooler while driving then the condenser fan may not be running properly, which that year Sedona has fan issues within the wire harness connector. If getting your proper refrigerant levels don't work and fan is working then more than likely it's your compressor wearing out.
