Today's video is showing what about $2,000 per month gets you in New York VS LA. Natalie Barbu's apartment in New York is $4,365 total- compared to my apartment in LA for just a few hundred more ($4,650)- and there's a huge difference in what you get. Split with our roommates- we each pay in the $2,000 range (I pay $2,100- Natalie's split in half would be $2180).

I lived in Manhattan last year and moved to LA 3 months ago. I payed way more in NYC and my apartment was much smaller and with more roommates. Both places are so amazing to live in though! but u can for sure live in these places less pricey if you really try. i'm paying around 800 right now living here in LA and we have 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom, living room, kitchen space, balcony and washer/dryer in unit. Although NYC gets you places way faster with the subway, the space difference mostly is insane between the two and I would prefer LA.

it's great about the US that when you rent a house/flat there is often a shared living room. In Poland, there is very little chance you will rent a flat with a shared space like that. Living rooms are converted into rooms so everyone hangs out only in their small spaces or in pretty small kitchens.
Anyway, I love your flats, they both look amazing!

People are discounting the fact that NYC/manattan does not require transportation. The average car payment in America is around $400 + insurance + gas. If you put that towards rent it starts to be more competitive vs other parts of the country. I'm about even in living costs going from Ann Arbor MI to Chelsea Manhattan

That’s a terrible NY apartment for the price. I’m curious what neighborhood but you can find way better places for less money once you settle in and learn about the availabilities in NY.

Hi Shelby, I lived in Brooklyn for 15 years, moved to Northampton MA a long time ago now, a really cute little town 3 hours north of NYC. Many New Yorkers move here because it's a cool town surrounded by beautiful nature, art, music, organic food, a holistic approach to living and a bit cheaper than NY. Let me know if you would like me to send you pictures or a video of my apartment if you'd like to see it. Would be a cool area to film

I live less than an hour outside of NYC in CT. I pay $2K for a 2 bedroom, 3 floor townhome. While it doesn’t look like this LA home, I’m getting a good deal anyhow. I’m moving soon to an apartment & it’s still going to cost me $2K, but this time it’s a one bedroom. Still expensive since my area wants to compete for NYC renters. It’s still a nice space & whatnot. Nonetheless, this doesn’t compare at all. Collectively their rents are over $4K. I hope Natalie & her roommate have a talk about splitting that rent. Her roommate is paying half & gets a super tiny space. She can’t even really decorate it. When I lived with roommates, whoever had the bigger space, paid more & whoever had the smaller space, paid less. I hope it has changed since this video has gone up. Good video, but doesn’t compare much at all since each individual has a roommate.

I love when you do a pop up of brooklyn as if it’s just You can easily find a 1 bedroom or two bedroom in the REST of brooklyn/queens for $2,000 or slightly over. You both need to do your market research.
